General Information
The Australian Air League is a national uniformed
youth organisation that has, as its prime goal, the encouragement of
an interest in aviation as a career or as a hobby for the youth of
Australia. The organisation is entirely self-funding and is staffed by
volunteers who gave their time generously to achieve its goals. The
Australain Air League has no political, racial or religious
connections.
Location
We are located at the Mittagong Airfield. The Airfield is on Old South Road just before the Renwick turnoff heading south.
Meeting Times
We meet every Friday night through out the school term. 7pm till 9pm.
Aims of the Australian Air League
The aim of the Australian Air League is to promote the learning of aviation in Australia.
Ages
The age requirement to join the Australian Air League is 8 years old. 8 - 11 years old are Junior Cadets, 12 - 15 years old are Cadets and 16 - 18 years old are Senior Cadets. There are many adults that join which are appointed as Officers.
Motto
The motto of the Australian Air League is "Vinculo Terrae" which means "Free from the bonds of Earth".
What we do
Over the year we will do things like the Squadron Camp, Group Review, Federal Review and the Wing Camp. Of a normal Friday night we will do things like Education, Modelling, Drill and PE.
